Bickleigh on Exe CE Primary School

Class 2's Jubilee Garden

We are building a flower bed because it is part of our project but before that we had a maths problem. We had to work out how many bricks we needed. It worked out to be 48 bricks. We all made lego models. We had to look round the school to find the ideal place to put it.

We wrote to Mr Goode about our flower bed. In the hall Mr Goode showed the whole school our letters and they were all from class2. And he said yes. We asked Mr Richardson for help to make our flowerbed. and we pulled out the tiles of a broken sculpture. And we dug a trench for the foundations.

We needed water, sand, cement and gravel. First we had to learn to make concrete. Then we got the concrete and stirred it then we poured it into the trench then we patted it down to make sure it was level and then we all laid a brick when it was hard. It is going to be called the Jubilee flower bed because it was made in the Jubilee month.

When the Jubilee flowerbed was finished we put some compost and soil in. When we finished putting the compost and soil in we will put the flowers in it. It will be on Monday
